The girls and I made Candy Cane Popcorn the other day to hand out to people for little gifts. It is so easy to make and the girls loved helping me! We bagged it all up into little cellophane gift bags from Target. We have been handing them out to people all over town.
Candy Cane Popcorn
1 box (12) medium size candy canes
3 bags microwave popcorn
2 bags white vanilla candy coating chips
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 cup sliced almonds
Crush up the candy canes in the food processor and then add the almonds and chop up real good. Melt the candy chips in your double boiler or the microwave following the instructions on the bag. Then mix your extract into the melted candy coating. Pop your popcorn and be sure to NOT get any seeds into your really big mixing bowl. We don't want anyone going to the dentist! Then mix in the bowl all the ingredients. Spread the mixture onto a sheet of parchment paper. Allow the popcorn to dry. Then break it apart and bag it!
