2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

Two Must Haves in your Closet this Season

Weekend Getaway: Ouray, CO

This past weekend we had the best little vacation 1 hour down the road in Ouray, CO.  It is the cutest little Victorian Box Canyon town.  We went with some of our friends who have two little boys.  We got there right before dinner time, and I had brought all the stuff to make homemade pizzas.  So, Laura & I started on the pizzas while the guys unpacked the car, and the kids explored every room, drawer & space on every floor!  The pizzas turned out delicious.  I bought pre-made fresh pizza dough in the Safeway deli and it was better than when I make it myself.  I will definitely being buying that more often.

Saturday morning we headed to play at Ouray's town park.  We kicked the soccer ball around and the kids played on the playground.  Then, we headed downtown to do a little sight seeing.  We stopped by Mouse's Chocolate Shop for a little treat!

Snack Time

A little Family shot
This is in front of the cutest little what not shop called The Blue Pear.  So adorable.  I got the most adorable handmade necklace at the North Moon Gallery.  It's one of my favorite jewelry stores.  I always find something so unique and you can always find something in your budget.

Before heading back to the condo we stopped at Ouray Brewery for a pint & a growler to go.  They have a rooftop patio to enjoy your beer & the views.  Downstairs in the bar they have swinging barstools that the girls Loved.

After lunch & a nap, we got ready to soak at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool.  It is a must do if you are in the area.

For dinner, we made our way to Buen Tiempo - a great family Mexican restaurant but, the wait was over an hour and with little kids at dinner time that was a No Mas!  So we headed back down to the Ouray Brewpub.

Here is the necklace I got from North Moon Gallery
After getting the kids down to bed, we busted out the board games.  Cranium is always a good time.  Shane is having a go at a Sensosketch!  Good Laughs that night.

Sunday morning we packed it up and went downtown for breakfast at the Silver Nugget.  With full bellies, we hugged goodbye and headed back home to unpack and have a restful Sunday.

Lodging - Elkhorn Townhomes, I also recommend Box Canyon Lodge or Beaumont Hotel (without kids)
Dining - Buen Tiempo, Bon Ton (without kids), Ouray Brewery, Silver Nugget, The Bakery
Recreation - Ouray Hot Springs, Box Canyon Falls, plenty of hiking, fishing & exploring in the summer, snowshoeing, ice climbing & skiing in the winter

Favorite {Giveaway} Fridays featuring Forme Designs

Today, I am excited to introduce to you a local mompreneur who creates the some amazing jewelry!  Renell Good is a talented artist who has recently started Forme Designs.  Forme Designs was built out of a hobby, but then she had lots of people complimenting her work.  So, she decided to build a business out of it.  She loves being able to do what she loves while still being a full-time mom of two little girls.  Renell says, "Creating my jewelry is my 'for me' time- hence the name, Forme Designs (although it is pronounced for-meh). I work on it when my girls are napping or playing."

I met Renell through our local MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group.  We were both on the board of different chapters in our town, and we would collaborate on joint events for the community.  Then, several months ago during one of my craft classes that I teach at Dahlia Floral Design I was teaching how to make leather wrapped beaded bracelets like the ones you see in Sundance Catalog.  She caught right on to the technique and kept on creating even more beautiful designs.  I LOVE these kinds of stories.  I think it is so encouraging to other mothers to do what you love & then to move forward with it.  I hope her story inspires all of you to create something 'For You'.

"My desire is to encourage people to consider handcrafted and local items in their purchases. There is such a unique story to that type of item. My story shows individual detail- no piece of my jewelry is quite like another I make. There's no mass production in Forme Designs!"
-Renell Good, owner Forme Designs

Today, Mrs. Renell has graciously donated this beautiful copper necklace above (valued at $36.00) that I am hosting in a giveaway!  You can find her on Facebook as well as her shop on Etsy.

New Product: Coconut & Almond Milk Yogurts

I have recently seen online new types of yogurts made from Coconut Milk & Almond Milk.  I am intrigued!  I haven't tried it yet.  Have any of you?  I am going to also look up some recipes to try.  I am sharing the ones I find with you too.  So then you can let me know what you guys think.  I really like this gourmet brand below called NuLait.  It looks very divine, but it is only sold in NY.  Maybe I can recreate it at home.  I have made Almond Milk at home and it is so good that I won't buy that boxed stuff again!

Here is a great blog, Small Footprint Family, about making coconut milk yogurt.  She suggests making your own fresh coconut milk so I am going to try that route because 1) I know it will taste the best. 2) it is healthier.  This family orders a culture instead of making it from another yogurt from the store due to all of their allergies.  Since I am not allergic, I will just use a yogurt with live cultures from the store to make it easier for me.  And what's even cooler is that you can let the yogurt drain in cheesecloth afterwards to make it thicker & creamier,  the leftover water is coconut water that you can use in smoothies!  YUM  The almond milk yogurt also sounds soooo good.  You can make the fresh almond milk recipe that I have then follow the directions that I found from another great blog, Lexie's Kitchen.  This is her recipe that was featured on Williams-Sonoma.  I can't wait to try it.  Lexie also has a coconut yogurt recipe too!

Can't wait to try these recipes out!

Let's play I Spy with my little Eye.....a Rubber band!

The hair rubber bands in my house are everywhere!  It is so funny that there is a rubber band in just about every room in my house.  And the ones I took pictures of were only the ones in plain sight!  My whole house is littered with little girls stuff.  I was laughing while I was taking pictures of these.  They were everywhere!

Do you find things like this all over your house?

I am still laughing!
